Some songs just stick with you. I can place the very first time I heard this one.
I was sitting in the passenger seat of a rental car, my father driving us through Massachusetts on our way to see relatives. I was well versed in Don Henley’s version of this song, but something about hearing the cover just stuck with me.
It was one of the first summers I took a trip away from my girlfriend of that time. As an early birthday present, my parents bought me a calling card so that I could talk to her while we were away. I was about 16 years old and just about in high school. The air in west Mass was amazingly crisp and cool that summer. The windows in our car were down the entire drive. The wind whipping at my face the whole drive.
This song is literally a part of who I am. It’s the embodiment of my careless youth, and everything I will always miss about being young.
AlwaysStarWars wanted either Leia or Padme. I don’t currently own a Padme figure, but I have a couple Leias! AlwaysStarWars also got two pictures, because I thought the top one was a cool idea, but also threw in the one with just Leia.
Haha, this is so awesome! Thank you so much! I love Leia on top of the pile of stormies. You’re the best, theempireblogsback!
i love you just the way you are
but you don’t see you like i do
you shouldn’t try so hard to be perfect
